How Our Training Works

Repeatable, Adaptable, Successful

The goal is to make you and your team viable and productive as quickly as possible. We do this by taking a complete and holistic approach. We start with blending the right material for your needs and end with an additional session to help ensure that the material covered had had time to be applied and absorbed.

Create the Right Course for Your Needs

We will work with you to determine the best course modules for your needs.

Of course, someone could take a single course module and get value from it. However, we've found that the best results come from blending multiple course modules together. This allows us to create a tailored course experience. When doing this, the course structure, materials and agenda are combined in a way in which the material builds on itself and is most effective. because re are able to deduplicate material, this also allows us to be more efficient with our time and yours.

Holistic Training

The actual training process does not start and end in a single session. It is a process that starts before the training and continues after the training.

1) Prerequisite

In order to be as effective as possible during the training sessions, we have found that it is best to have some prerequisites. The prerequisites are all based on public information and from the official sources. These prerequisites are intended to help ensure that everyone is on the same page and that we can focus on the material at hand. Examples would be viewing videos from the vendor or reviewing certain chapters from the official documentation.

2) Integrated Training Environment

The courses are taught in an online environment that is integrated with the training materials. The standard process is repeated approximately every hour with a new set of topics. The process is as follows:

  1. Presentation and Examples Given and Explain.
As much as possible, these examples are done with live samples.

  2. Hands-on Exercises
This is done on individual, dedicated environments. During this time, the instructor is using an "over the shoulder" approach to help ensure that everyone is able to follow along and is able to complete the exercises.

  3. Quick Review
This is a quick review of the material covered to judge how well the session is going. If there are any questions that cannot be answered quickly, we will convert this into topics for the "Applying Knowledge" or "Final Recap" steps below.

3) Apply knowledge

If we walked away after the course, much of the knowledge and experience from the training is at risk of being forgotten. To help with success, we keep the doors open after the initial training. During this time, the online knowledge base, course material and virtual machines are still available. This gives the learner time to further explore the topics, catch up where needed and experiment while trying to apply the knowledge. We encourage everyone to return to the same learning environment to continue to explore and learn. Even if someone is working on a project in their jobs, the private VM is still a good place to prototype and experiment.

Phone a Friend
Time is also available to help with any questions that may come up during the application of the knowledge. If one is stuck on a particular topic, time can be scheduled with the the instructor to log on and assist.

4) Course Recap

The final step in the learning process brings us all back into the online environment to recap and finalize. This is intended to review the material covered and answer any questions that may have come up during the "Apply Knowledge" period.

Note: All of the steps above are critical parts of the training process and is included in the cost of the training. The number of days in which the classroom stays open, the number of extra VM hours and the number of ad-hoc instructor hours available for helping apply knowledge and the duration of the Course Recap are based on the amount of material covered and length of the class and specific needs.
